I have been really interested in painting Hideouts. These paintings start from a memory of Hideouts that I made with my cousins when I was a kid. I guess the paintings end up looking fairly abstract, but I think that it’s important to start with memories. The paintings begin with something personal and then open up into something wider and more ambiguous.
